General faq

  • Late Lyrics is a hip hop and R&B open mic and creative ecosystem that provides a stage for independent artists to perform, connect, and access a resource directory to help support their creative and professional growth.

  • Late Lyrics is a monthly recurring event from 8:30 PM -10:30 PM. Last Thursdays, generally.

  • Prices varie.

  • Doors/Sign Ups at 8PM. Mic starts at 8:30PM.

  • Our 2026 season runs monthly from May–October. Future seasons may vary in schedule and frequency.

  • No. Everyone is welcome to attend.

  • Yes. Hip Hop and R&B is the foundation and core of Late Lyrics. Pop, Soul, Jazz, and Funk are welcome. All other genres are not accepted at this time.

  • Yes. All levels welcome.

  • 21+ after 9 PM.

  • Yes. Late Lyrics is committed to accessibility, and all venues are ADA-compliant and wheelchair accessible.

  • Personal photos and short clips are welcome.

    Media teams or anyone planning to film full performances or event coverage must receive approval in advance, out of respect for our official event photography and videography and to ensure we can collaborate and make space for everyone.

  • Selected performers are welcome to sell their merch. If you are not a performer, merch sales are not permitted unless you apply for and are approved as a vendor.

    Vendor spots are available for artists and businesses and must be submitted in advance. Vendor submissions are not guaranteed.

PERFORMER FAQ

  • Yes — all selected performers receive complimentary entry to the event, whether signing up in advance or at the door.

    Advance Sign-Ups:

    Your name will be placed on the guest list at the door.

    Door Sign-Ups:

    Sign up at the door (if space is available) and receive free entry upon selection.

  • No — free entry is reserved for selected performers.

    However, we offer discounted entry:

    – $10 general admission

    – $5 for supporting musicians (whether performing or not)

  • 15 slots total. There are 8 Advanced sign up slots available and 7 door sign up slots available.

  • Time slots are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

    • Kick Off: 8:30–9:00 PM

    • Prime Time: 9:00–9:30 PM

    • Late Lyrics: 9:30–10:30 PM

    Slots Available: 15 total — 8 advanced, 7 door.

  • Sign Ups start at 8 PM

    ( Note: online sign ups must show up still to claim a time slot)

  • No. Open mic performers do not receive individual soundchecks.

    All microphones and sound are fully tested prior to the event to ensure everything is functioning properly. 

    Soundcheck is reserved for selected special guest performers only.

  • Selected performers are announced 10 days before the event.

  • Yes, If you are selected through the online sign-up, your performance slot is reserved. However, you must check in at 8PM (doors) to secure your time slot.

    Failure to check in by 8:05 PM, will result in your slot being released to in-person (door) sign-ups.

  • Online sign-ups must arrive at Doors (8PM) to check in to secure a slot. After that, their guaranteed slot is released to in-person sign-ups if slots are available.

    If you believe you will be late by 15 mins or less (8:45pm at latest), we can secure your slot. you can contact us by email at info@latelyrics.com to make changes. You MUST contact us before 8PM.

  • When you arrive, there will be a sign-up list at the door with available time slots.

    Put your name down for any open slot. Slots are first-come, first-served.

  • Each performer may perform up to 2 songs, with a maximum of 4 minutes per song.

    Total set time: 8 minutes.

  • No. Performers are limited to two songs unless space allows.

  • No. You may only submit 2 MP3s maximum.

    (this allows everyone a chance to perform)

  • No. 2 Mp3’s only. NO WAVS, google drive links, youtube links, etc.

  • No, but video of your set is available for purchase by our event videographer

    Late Lyrics Exclusive Only Price: $25 for 1 song or $40 for 2.
